Life Members The Honour Board

The people who rolled the pitch, ran the canteen and kept the Wildcats going. We bat on the ground they prepared.

Built on Their Innings

Every club is built on the people who came before it. Our Life Members did the groundwork long before the current side walked out to bat: they rolled the pitch, ran the canteen, coached the juniors and put their hand up when the club needed one more volunteer.

Life membership is the highest honour Wellington Point Cricket Club can give. It isn't awarded for a good season or a big score. It's earned over years of quiet, unpaid work by the people who set up before play and packed away after, who stayed when it would have been easier to walk, and who left the club in better shape than they found it.

They batted a long innings for the Wildcats. The cricket we play at Thorneside today sits squarely on the groundwork they laid. This page is the club's way of saying thank you, and a reminder to every player who pulls on the cap that the game was handed to us in good order.

They did the hard yards so the next generation could bat. Now it's our turn to carry the bat and pass it on in better shape than we found it.
