Our Story

A Club Built on Community

Wellington Point Cricket Club has held its place as a premier club for juniors, seniors and masters since 1895, with nearly 200 registered players, more than its fair share of premierships, and the cooling sea breeze of Moreton Bay at its back.

1895

First ball bowled

The club is founded, with early meetings held at the Wellington Point Hotel. Cricket takes root in the Redlands, and never leaves.

1999

A new home ground

WPCC relocates to Mooroondu Road, Thorneside, becoming affiliates of the Mooroondu Sports & Recreation Club, a move that gives the Wildcats access to first-class facilities beside the bay.

2015

120 not out

The club celebrates 120 years of service to the community, a historic local institution that has developed talented players, including notable alumnus Clinton Perrin.

Today

Still batting

Nearly 200 registered players across juniors, girls, seniors and masters, with programs like Cricket Blast nurturing the next generation of Wildcats. The innings continues.

Our home at the Mooroondu Sports & Recreation Club gives us everything a cricket club needs to thrive, right beside the waters of Moreton Bay.

Turf Wicket

A well-maintained turf wicket for all senior QSDCA Saturday competition matches.

Synthetic Wicket

A synthetic practice wicket available for training and junior matches.

4 Practice Nets

Four fully equipped practice nets for individual and team training.

Modern Clubhouse

Full facilities through the Mooroondu Sports & Recreation Club, including canteen and bar.

Moreton Bay Views

Located beside the bay, with cooling afternoon sea breezes that batters love.

Ample Parking

Plenty of on-site parking for players and spectators on match days.
